The Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively train semi-skilled and skilled manpower for various industries. The key objectives and structure of the program are as follows:

Objectives

1.Skill Development

  • Train instructors in specialized techniques that will enable them to teach hands-on skills effectively.

  • Prepare them to impart industry-relevant skills to trainees, focusing on real-world applications.

2.Training Methodology

  • Equip instructors with the necessary pedagogical tools to communicate knowledge and skills efficiently.

  • Focus on enhancing the teaching approach, ensuring that trainees can grasp practical skills and techniques clearly and effectively.

3.Enhancing Teaching Competency

  • Provide instructors with the skills to manage classrooms, engage students, and adapt teaching methods for varied learning paces.

4.Industry-Readiness

  • Align the training with industry standards, ensuring that instructors are prepared to deliver a workforce ready to meet the demands of the industry.

Structure of the Training program

1. Comprehensive Curriculum

The program is designed to equip trainees with both technical expertise and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Technical Skill Training: Focuses on industry-specific skills, ensuring trainees gain practical, hands-on experience relevant to their trade.
  • Pedagogical Training: Covers essential teaching methodologies, classroom management strategies, communication skills, and evaluation techniques to enhance instructional effectiveness.

2. Program Duration

  • The training spans 12 months, integrating both theoretical learning and practical sessions to ensure a well-rounded education.

3. Assessment & Certification

  • Participants are evaluated on:
    • Their technical proficiency in the specific trade.
    • Their ability to teach and manage a group of learners effectively.
  • Upon successful completion, participants receive the National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC), officially qualifying them to train others in their respective trade or skill.
